Assessment Level<\/h2><\/span>

Student visa applicants are subject to different Assessment Levels (AL) depend\u00ading on the passport they hold and what subclass of student visa they apply for. The ALs reflect risks of visa non-compliance. AL\u00a01 is the lowest risk level and AL\u00a03 is the highest. Students holding passports from countries not given a specific AL\u00a0are allocated AL\u00a03 as a default assessment level. The higher a student visa applicant\u2019s AL, the more evidence they will need to provide to prove that they are a genuine stu\u00addent visa applicant. The evidence required covers English language ability, finan\u00adcial capacity and other matters such as academic record, age and emp\u00adloyment\/career requirements.
